Ideal Guest
My ideal guest loves the outdoors and protects it, they care for recycling, energy conservation and heat pump maintenance.
My ideal renter is a good communicator, it's important we avoid miscommunications.
Since we are located in the country side , I want my ideal renter to be aware of the risk of mice invasion. Food needs to be contained in mice proof containers and the scent of food kept to a minimum by keeping strict cleaning and hygiene standards. We had a mice invasion in the past and we cannot afford it again.
I will give you 48 hours' written notice before needing to access the apartment for routine inspections.
In addition, living in the country side among trees in intense weather systems can bring the electricity down, resulting in a few days without water, lights or heat. For these instances water needs to be stored together with flashlights and strength of heart. The weather systems can also result in fallen trees, requiring collaborative efforts.
The apartment is well insulated but noises travel within the house. It is necessary that my guest is comfortable using headphones when watching media or listen to music.

Hi I am a female Elderly person of French origin. I like the outdoors and do my best to walk 4 miles every second day. I also do yoga two times a week as well as strength training and more. The house l ive in is across the street from lake Samish. I have 2 basic canoes that you can use as well as long as you can swim. The house is located in a garden. There are lots of trails available for walking connecting to park trails from the lake.
The Neighborhood
The building dates from the 70's and is located in the Samish Lake area.
Lake Samish is accross the street from the house. The park on the lake is open to kayaking and swimming. The back of the house opens to the trails of the tree logging operation leading to park trails such as Chuckanut Mountain, English Camp Trail and more.
I can think of 2 favourite locations to start from the house. Take the dirt road to English Camp Trail up to Lost Lake where campsites are available, from there follow the trail that leads to an overlook facing Oyster Dome and the Ocean. The other one is a 4 mile hike forging a stream, walking along a dying pond, a beaver pond and more in a loop shape.
