Vintage-furnished bedroom suite on 2nd floor of 3-story 1870s house; 1st floor is rented out; owner lives on top 2 floors. Bath right outside bedroom (tub only); shower upstairs. Two connected rooms; double bed, upholstered chaise, dressing table, bureau, closet space, 3 windows, and more. Some decluttering is doable, but most furniture needs to stay. Kitchen, living room, internal stairway show the style of the house; must love "stuff"! ;)

The ideal guest will be someone who is independent and respects independence, but is also sociable and compassionate. Someone who appreciates a funky, vintage home full of odd treasures. Mom is a late riser and likes to do things her own way, in her own time; she won't have strong feelings about someone else's schedule. Interested in current affairs, art, travel. Bonus if you're a Celtics fan and can help her find the games when they're on. :)

Estimated Monthly Rent reduction of $300 for a minimum of 20 hours per month of help. Details should be discussed when you contact the Host.

Front porch

Mom's Alzheimer's makes it confusing for her to have a lot of strangers around, so limited visitors. Mom loves to chat, but also likes her solitude; she does not expect someone to hang around a lot, but appreciates company. She does have some confusion and will repeat herself, but otherwise is easy to socialize with. She has an aide who comes 3 times a week to help with errands etc. Out of state daughter (me) visits weekly; local son visits, too. I am always available by phone for any questions or issues that arise.
